How-to guide

Queue and steer prompts

While Nawa is working, type another prompt and send it. It goes into the prompt card beside the output. Ordinary queued prompts run in order after the current turn completes successfully; they do not interrupt it.

  • Steer: use the upward arrow on a queued prompt to send it into the current conversation. It leaves the card and appears as a user bubble. Waiting means it has been sent but not consumed; On it means the agent has received it. An in-flight tool or model request may need to reach a delivery boundary first. Existing files and research are retained.
  • Edit: the pencil brings the prompt back to the composer. Enter or Send saves it into the same queue position. The queue pauses while an edit is open, so another prompt cannot overtake it. Escape cancels the edit.
  • Reorder: drag the reorder handle and drop at the insertion line.
  • Combine: use the combine control between adjacent prompts to turn them into one queued request. Review the combined text before sending it.
  • Delete: the trash control removes that pending prompt. It does not undo a prompt already delivered.
  • More / less: the chevron expands or collapses a long prompt.

Typing switches Stop to Send; clearing or sending the draft returns it to Stop while work continues. Stop ends the current turn but preserves queued prompts. A stopped, failed or waiting-for-input turn does not automatically drain the queue. You can add another prompt or explicitly start a queued one; the queued prompt's arrow starts it when no turn is running.

Try this with a harmless task: ask for a short outline, queue a separate example, then edit the example before it runs. Use Steer only when you want to change the work already underway.
