Build a dashboard

A dashboard arranges saved artifacts in one view. An artifact is a saved app snapshot; a dashboard is a collection and layout of those artifacts. An automation is the separate mechanism for scheduled work and data updates.

1. First create and save the apps or views you want in Artifacts; see Your first app.
2. Open Dashboards, or use its plus control, and create a named dashboard.
3. Add the saved artifacts and arrange the dashboard. Open it again from its entry in the sidebar.
4. To change an app's behavior, update that artifact. To change the arrangement or membership, edit the dashboard.

Opening a dashboard is not a request to research new data. Its contents are as current as the artifacts and data sources it uses. If it must refresh on a schedule, ask for an automation and verify a completed run before trusting its freshness.
